There’s a clip from Car & Track that recently popped up on the Web showing the development of the Chevrolet Vega. What’s interesting is how the clips give great insight into how cars were designs and developed in the ‘70s, and how different the process is from today.

Car & Track was one of the first TV shows to cover automotive topics. By checking back to these old episodes, Burns Harbor Chevrolet customers have an appreciation for how certain models became famous or infamous.

Today, technology plays a much larger role in building a car, obviously. But there are still some similarities, as seen in this clip.

This reviews gives a somewhat positive, but overall balanced assessment of the CR-Z; both what it is and what it isn’t. While some Honda enthusiasts at Woodbridge used Honda dealers are still eager to point out the ties to the CR-X, one thing is certain – it’s not a sports car. But, the Honda CR-Z is still sporty, which is saying plenty considering this car’s mileage.

Lexus FLA Crashes in Germany, Test Driver Dies

Lexus FLA Crash in Germany

Toyota’s legendary test driver, Hiromu Naruse, died this week after crashing a Lexus LFA prototype outside the Nuerburgring racetrack in Germany.

Naruse was driving the LFA when the vehicle veered into a BMW that was also being driven by test drivers.

Employed by Toyota since 1963, Naruse has served as a personal driver for Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda and is considered the “God Father” of the FLA supercar. Rockville Lexus dealers were sadden by the news as Naruse was a living legend, having played a vital role in the development of the FLA and many other Toyota products over the years.

For over 90 years, advertising agency Campbell-Ewald has held the Chevrolet account. Now, that business will go entirely to Publicis Worldwide.

Over its long history, Campbell-Ewald was responsible for a number of memorable ads and campaigns for Chevy, including the “Like a Rock” campaign. Chevy dealers Portage remember that campaign fondly, and feel that it was well suited to Chevy’s tough trucks.

Although the two companies have a long history together, that nonetheless is the nature of the business. And, as part of the “new GM,” it’s not too surprising to see Chevrolet make such drastic and difficult changes.

Hyundai had long been known for low-quality economy cars. Now Hyundai is doing it again with the Equus. Aiming for the premium full-size segment, and vehicles such as the Lexus LS and Mercedes S-Class, Manassas Hyundai believes this vehicle will not only be a boon for the brand, but it will also help convert more luxury car buyers to the brand and encourage more cross-brand shopping.

Promising to balance hybrid efficiency with sportiness, the Honda CR-Z is an unusual vehicle that has garnered both praise and bewilderment by Honda enthusiasts, DC Honda dealers, and even Honda executives. But despite the bevy of love-it-or-hate-it reactions, the CR-Z is already a stellar sales success in Japan where it has been on sale for about a month and a half.

If the success of the CR-Z in Japan is an indication of what we could expect here, chances are plenty of people will be changing their opinions about this compact hatchback.

Performance and Efficiency Collide: Honda CR-Z On The Track

Although the Honda CR-Z is being being marketed as a hybrid sports car (and inspired by the CRX), some have doubted those credentials. Even U.S. Honda execs were disappointed by the production vehicle’s styling and lackluster performance stats.

While the term “sports car” might be used loosely when describing the Honda CR-Z, it certainly looks capable on the Suzuka Race Track in Japan. It clearly doesn’t take those straight-aways as quick as a Veyron, but the brand’s enthusiasts at Long Beach Honda stress that it certainly hugs the corners better than any Toyota Prius could.

Although the Honda CR-Z has certainly espoused mixed feelings from consumers, one thing is certain – it will be unlike any other hybrid on the market when it hits showrooms in this summer.

The “5.0” Badge Returns On The 2011 Ford Mustang

The new 2011 GT will even get get the “5.0” badge once again, signifying the new 412 horsepower 5.0-liter V-8 engine that resides under the hood.

Look for both the new 2011 Mustang V6 and V8-powered GT to arrive in showrooms this summer.

The Nissan Altima has long served as one of Nissan’s best selling models. Audi CMO Talks Marketing and Where Detroit Went Wrong

After one of the worst economic recessions in recent history, automotive marketing efforts have needed to do much more than than tell people how good their product is. Or at least that’s what Audi USA’s Chief Marketing Officer, Scott Keogh, explains.

In this video, Keogh gives examples of how Audi’s marketing efforts have helped solidify its brand image and even helped increase market share while other auto brands (mainly domestics) have failed miserably to get it right.

One of the most notable marketing strategies executed at Audi was educating the public about diesel fuels. Diesel engines have long been the standard in Europe, but the assumption here in the U.S. is that diesels are dirty, noisy, and inconvenient. Not so says Keogh and Audi, as the automaker has introduced a number of diesel cars and have already seen changing perceptions among consumers. Audi’s diesels are clean, quiet, and still provide the power and luxury that Audi is known for.

The BMW Design Works USA facility is home to some of BMW’s most talented designers. It’s here that new product design innovations are created every day. While the video highlights non-automotive design, BMW Los Angeles points out that it also shows how BMW is able to stay at the forefront of automotive design. Style May Be Nissan Cube’s Best Attribute

The Nissan Cube has been gaining plenty of attention. While it’s an appealing offering, the attention is probably due to the Nissan Cube’s bold and distinctive exterior styling. The Cube will likely get plenty of love-it or hate-it reactions as the exterior is quite box-like, but the price will make this youthful crossover appealing to plenty of buyers looking for value.

But exterior isn’t the only thing that helps the Boston Nissan Cube stand out. Inside, the Cube’s youthful and distinctive styling continues. For example, the headliner features a circular pattern that mimics the ripple effect of throwing a stone into a pond. Pennsylvania Nissan says that like its main competitor, the Scion xB, the Cube offers unique colors and customization inside.

2010 Ford Taurus SHO Available Soon

Although the Ford Taurus was one of Ford's most successful models, some said that it lacked excitement or any real driving pleasure. That may have been true until Ford released the high performance Taurus SHO model says Providence Used Cars. With the recently reincarnated Taurus nameplate, Ford is also brining back the sporty SHO as well.

For 2010, the Ford Taurus is all-new. Combining new features, styling, and the high-performance SHO model, one used car dealer St Paul expects that the Taurus nameplate will regain some of its sales success of the past. Thanks to a twin turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, St Paul Ford says the latest model will have ample power to take on the likes of the Chrysler 300C and the Dodge Charger.

The Ford Taurus SHO will be available this summer with a base price under $38,000. Ashland Ford has already received numerous inquiries regarding this new model, and despite the decline in new car sales, both the base Taurus and SHO are expected to give the competition a run for its money.

Buying less is the biggest trend in buying SUVs in particular, and no longer are buyers considering seating capacity, towing capacity, or other aspects that they don’t really need.

2010 Buick LaCrosse Images and Video Released

Buick has just released details and images for the all-new 2010 Buick LaCrosse. Buick has also released video for the new LaCrosse, showing off its fresh redesigned from the ground up styling. Consumers will be able to see it in person at the North American international Auto Show, which begins on January 12.

The new Buick LaCrosse is a more global product than its predecessor, with an interior designed in China and the platform designed in Europe. It will also be the basis for the future Chevrolet Malibu which will become available in 2011 at Detroit Chevrolet dealers and other locations.

Despite being the basis for other GM cars, and having been party designed abroad, the latest LaCrosse is a Buick through and through. With the classic grille and subtle chrome accents, the latest LaCrosse offers far more style based on customer reactions among Pontiac Pittsburgh dealers, but it also retains Buick characteristics.

Inside the 2010 Buick LaCrosse is where the real improvements can be seen according to personnel at GMC Birmingham. The dash and center console have a cascading design, and appears to utilize high quality materials, while employing precise fit and finish.

Powering the 2010 Buick LaCrosse will be a 3.0-liter direct-injection V6, producing 255 horsepower and 211 lb. ft. of torque. The engine will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission which Rochester Buick says will balance performance with fuel efficiency. There will also be a 3.6-liter 280 horsepower engine available.

There will be three trim levels with the latest Buick LaCrosse, including CX, CXL, and CXS. Among the features available will be dual-zone automatic climate control, active-dampening suspension, 18-inch wheels, and heated and cooled leather seats. So far, reactions have been positive, with used cars Salt Lake City shoppers seeing the latest LaCrosse as offering a bold new design direction for the traditionally stodgy GM brand. Meanwhile, Saturn Denver dealers are now even more eager to see the next generation Saturn Aura, which like the next Malibu, will also share the new LaCrosse's platform.

While GM had released photos and information about the all-new 2010 Cadillac SRX ahead of its Detroit unveiling last week, new video has also just emerged. Powering the new 2010 Cadillac SRX is a pair of engines which GM promises offer strong fuel economy. 2008 Volkswagen Passat CC Hits Dealer Showrooms

The all-new Volkswagen Passat CC debuted at the 2008 North American International Auto Show, and has finally reached dealer showrooms such as Volkswagen Saint Louis where the new sedan has already received plenty of attention. Personally, I think Porsche makes a very unattractive SUV. But, they do know how to make a great ad.
